Women's tennis places fourth in SLIAC tournament

BELLEVILLE, Ill. -- The women's tennis team's season concluded on Saturday with a 5-4 loss to Fontbonne in the third place match of the SLIAC tournament.  Greenville won four of the seven matches contested, but they lost two matches by default.

Closing out the season with wins were Courtney Blaser and Maddi Walsh at No. 2 doubles, Blaser in No. 3 singles, Walsh in No. 4 singles, and Brooke Bryant in No. 5 doubles.

On the season, Maddie Saffel posted a winning singles record of 7-6.  Breanna Thomas went 7-7, and Brooke Bryant was also .500 at 2-2.

The doubles team of Saffel and Thomas was 2-0.  Christina Bowman and Thomas went 2-2, and Blaser and Walsh posted a 3-3 record.

The Lady Panthers ended the season with a record of 5-11 (2-3 SLIAC) and a fourth place showing in the conference tournament.  They finished the regular season in a third place tie with Westminster and Fontbonne.
