Women's track and field places 56th at NCAA nationals behind Gilles

GENEVA, Ohio -- The women's track and field team received a fifth place performance from senior Chelsea Gilles as she competed in the 400 meter dash at the NCAA national championships.

Gilles, a Groveland, Ill., native, earned the third NCAA Division III All-American award of her career at Greenville College.

She completed the race in 55.03 seconds.

Gilles concluded her career with three NCAA All-American awards, all three in the 400 meter dash.  She went to the outdoor national championships in the 400 each of the last three years, taking a runner-up position last year and the fifth place finish this year.

Gilles gave Greenville four points in the team standings and a 56th place finish.
