Women's track and field paced by Staley and Porter

ELSAH, Ill. -- The women's track and field team was headlined by Jessica Staley in the 300 and Sydney Porter in the pentathlon as both women were third in their respective events at the Principia Relays on Friday and Saturday.

Staley recorded a time of 43.6 seconds in the 300 in route to her third place mark.  She also posted a fifth place time in the 60 meter finals (8.21 seconds).

Porter picked up 2036 points in the pentathlon as her finish gave her a qualifying mark for the NCCAA indoor championships in March.

Rachel Hanna provided Greenville with a pole vault height of 2.9 meters (9 feet-6.25 inches) as she was fourth.  The clearance allowed her to qualify for the NCCAA championships.

Greenville's 4x200 meter relay team of Hanna, Jayda Fowler, Taylor Tucker, and Abby Freeman was fifth in 1:57.45.

The distance medley relay collected a fifth place finish.  Lia Kruse, Fowler, Kori Nesbit, and Megan McKee completed the relay in 13:56.

Marideth Tate posted a fifth place ranking in the weight throw with a distance of 12.81 meters (42-0.5)

The Panthers will next compete on Saturday at Illinois College.
