Women's track and field takes fifth place at Illinois College

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. — The women's indoor track and field team was provided with second place finishes from Rachel Hanna in the pole vault and Lia Kruse in the mile run in their fifth place overall team placement at Illinois College on Saturday.

Hanna cleared 3.04 meters (9 feet-11.75 inches) in her second place pole vault finish, and Lia Kruse completed the mile run in 5:24 also for second place.

Marideth Tate was third in the shot put with a throw of 14.18 meters (46-6.5).

The 4x400 meter relay team of Sydney Porter, Jayda Fowler, Jessica Staley, and Taylor Tucker was fourth as they completed the event in 4:18.

Staley earned fifth place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.26.

Greenville completed the meet with 40 points as they competed in a field of 17 teams.

The women will next compete at Monmouth on Saturday, Feb. 10.
