Women's track and field takes two first place marks at Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. -- The women's track and field team had the first place entries in two events at Monmouth on Saturday.  Lia Kruse won the 3000 meter run, and the 4x400 meter relay team was a winner.

Kruse produced a time of 10:50 in the 3000 to improve her lifetime best by 20 seconds.

Jessica Staley, Taylor Tucker, Jayda Fowler, and Rachel Hanna were part of Greenville's winning 4x400 with a time of 4:15.59.

Staley was also second in the 400 with a time of 1:02.33.

Hanna placed fourth in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.04 meters (9 feet-11.75 inches).  She was also fourth in the 60 meter hurdles with a lifetime best of 10.23 seconds.

Marideth Tate had the fifth place distance in the weight throw as she reached 14.15 meters (46-5).

The women will send their top qualifiers to the NCCAA indoor national championships next weekend.
