Women's track and field comes in second at SLIAC invitational

ELSAH, Ill. -- The women's track and field team went to the SLIAC invitational at Principia and was second of six teams with 152.5 points.

Rachel Hanna won the triple jump with a jump of 32 feet-6 inches, was second in the pole vault with a 9-8 jump, and finished third in the 60 meter hurdles with a personal best of 10.14.

Jessica Staley won the 60 meter dash in 8.26 before pulling up early in the 400 with an injury.

Lia Kruse won the mile in 5:28 and was second in the 800 in 2:31

Savannah Maloney had lifetime best in the shot put with a throw of 36-8 and was second.

The best event was the women's weight throw where Greenville went 1-2-3-6-8.  Marideth Tate won with season best of 46-8, Deb Cunningham got second with a lifetime best of 44-3, and Tori Papez finished in third with a distance of 41-3.

The women will compete next weekend at Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
