WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The women's track and field team were 10th at the NCCAA national championships on Friday at Grace College. The performance of Rachel Hanna in the pole vault won the national championship.
Hanna cleared a height of 3.35 meters to gain 10 of Greenville's 36 points in the national standings.
Marideth Tate was an NCCAA All-American in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.51 meters.
Greenville's 4x800 meter relay team recorded a time of 10:37.23 to place fourth overall. The team included Lia Kruse, Megan McKee, Brooke Goodyear, and Kait Mathews.
McKee and Goodyear finished fifth and sixth in the 3000 meter steeplechase with times of 12:31.03 and 12:37.08, respectively.
Jessica Staley produced a time of 1:00.48 in the 400 meter dash as she placed sixth.
The Panthers will send a limited contingent to the NCAA qualifying meet at North Central next week.
