Women's track and field led by Staley at Illinois Wesleyan

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The women's track and field team started their 2018-19 campaign at the Illinois Wesleyan first chance meet. Jessica Staley provided Greenville's top placement on the day with a runner up performance in the 300 meter dash.

Staley finished the 300 in 42.30 seconds.

Greenville produced five other top eight finishes which included one sixth, two seventh, and two eighth place marks.

Victoria Papez used a throw of 13.34 meters to place sixth in the weight throw.

Seventh place marks were obtained by Staley in the 60 meter dash (8.30 seconds) and Deb Cunningham in the weight throw (13.26 meters).

Rachel Hanna completed the pole vault with a top height of 2.90 to earn eighth place, and Savannah Maloney was eighth in the shot put with a distance of 10.72 meters.

The Panthers will next compete in Jacksonville, Ill., at Illinois College on January 19.
