Women's track and field place sixth at WashU

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The women's track and field team competed at the WashU meet over the weekend.  The women posted 19 points to finish sixth of the 14 teams represented at the event.

Deborah Cunningham had Greenville's top performance as she recorded a fourth place finish in the hammer throw at 44.49 meters.

Savannah Maloney produced a fifth place mark in the shot put with a distance of 9.29 meters.

Carly Abbott was sixth in the discus with a top attempt of 30.77 meters.

The 4x100 meter relay team comprised of Cayden Sharp, Jessica Staley, Haniah Davis, and Tyla Anderson completed the race around the track in 53.06 seconds to finish sixth.

Victoria Papez earned team points for Greenville with a seventh place effort of 40.72 meters in the hammer throw.

The Panthers travel to Millikin for a meet on Friday, April 6.
