Women's track and field led by pair of wins by Sharp and Rodriguez

ELSAH, Ill. - The women's track and field team sent a small contingent to Principia on Saturday to participate in their season-opening indoor meet. The event was a smaller event that allowed the team to experience current safety protocols in a competition environment.

Most events had just a few entries, and Greenville managed to secure the best marks in nearly every competition.

In events with multiple competitors, Cayden Sharp won the high jump with a height of 1.52 meters (4 feet-9.75 inches). Sharp also won the 200 meter dash in 27.23 seconds.

Tawny Rodriguez and her mark of 11.45 meters (37-6.75) was the top performance in the shot put. Rodriguez also won the weight throw with an attempt of 13 meters (42-8).

In the 800 meter run, Olivia Mansfield recorded a winning mark of 2:40.98.

The Panthers will head back to Principia on January 29 and 30 for another indoor meet.
