Women's volleyball opens SLIAC action with two wins

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's volleyball team earned wins over Principia and Blackburn on Saturday.

Greenville took a 25-18, 25-17, 25-16 victory against Principia before closing the day with a 25-11, 25-16, 25-13 triumph over Blackburn.

Allyson Mitchell had 10 kills, four errors, and 23 attacks against Principia to find herself hitting at a .261 rate.  She tied Kirsten Laune for the team-high with 14 digs.  Laune added five service aces, and Mitchell had four.

At the net, Savannah Sells was effective as she produced four block assists to go along with seven kills and a .583 hitting percentage.

Mitchell was solid in the days second match as well.  She provided nine kills, five service aces, and seven  digs.

Laune assisted on 20 kils and also chipped in seven service aces.

The Lady Panthers (6-1, 2-0 SLIAC) travel to Eureka for a match on Monday night.
