Women's volleyball moves to 9-1

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The women's volleyball team defeated Webster and Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday to improve their record to 9-1 and hold their first place position in the SLIAC standings.

Greenville opened the day with a 25-22, 25-12, 17-25, 25-23 victory against Webster.

Savannah Sells led the Lady Panthers with 16 kills and 11 block assists as she accounted for 21 1/2 points in the match.

Sarah Watts posted 12 kills, one solo block, and six block assists.

Greenville's defensive efforts were aided by Allyson Grabowski's 25 digs.

The Lady Panthers closed the day with a brisk 25-13, 25-21, 25-16 triumph over Iowa Wesleyan.

Sells once again led the team with 13 kills and added two block assists.

Allyson Mitchell chipped in eight kills and six digs.

Grabowski provided seven digs, and Alex Falcone had six digs.

Sierah Ruffner thwarted Iowa Wesleyan's attacks with one solo block and five block assists.

The Lady Panthers extended their winning streak to nine matches, and they host Washington - St. Louis on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
