Women's volleyball picks up two conference wins

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The women's volleyball team defeated Spalding and MacMurray on Saturday in SLIAC action.

In the days first match, Greenville erased a two set deficit in earning a 27-29,23-25, 25-12, 25-18, 16-14 win.

Three Lady Panthers provided the offense as Sierah Ruffner totaled 14 kills, Allyson Mitchell 13, and Savannah Sells 12.

Kirsten Laune ran the offense and provided 48 assists.

Janisha Pealer tallied a match-high 27 digs.

Sells had two solo blocks and eight block assists, while Ruffner chipped in two solos and six assists.

The day's second match against MacMurray was controlled by Greenville from the outset in their 25-18, 25-12, 25-13 win.

Brittni Bell gave the Lady Panthers 10 kills while Laune doled out 35 assists.

Mitchell defended 10 attacks for digs, and Bell piled up four block assists.

The Lady Panthers (16-5, 10-2 SLIAC) host Rose-Hulman on Wednesday at 7 p.m.  If Greenville wins their last six conference matches, they will be guaranteed a share of the SLIAC regular season championship for the seventh straight season.
