Women's volleyball takes two more SLIAC wins

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The women's volleyball team captured two more victories on the young season to continue their perfect season record.  Greenville took a 25-16, 25-22, 25-17 victory over Fontbonne and swept Iowa Wesleyan 25-13, 25-16, 25-20 in the second match of the day.

Greenville offensive attack was balanced in the win over Fontbonne as four players had seven to nine kills.  Allyson Mitchell was the team leader with nine kills; Brittni Bell and Abby Freeman had eight kills; and Anna Finch provided seven kills.

Bell hit at a .636 rate, and Finch attacked at a .500 clip.  Bell also added five block assists.

Freeman's dynamic serve was on display with seven aces.

Allyson Grabowski posted 19 digs on Greenville's defense.

In the match against Iowa Wesleyan, Mitchell led the team with 14 kills and three service aces.

Greenville outhit Iowa Wesleyan by a .243 to .037 margin.

Grabowski continued as Greenville's top performer in digs with 11.

The Panthers (7-0, 3-0 SLIAC) will put their unblemished mark record on the line at Westminster on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.  A victory would give them an early upper hand through four of 18 conference matches.
