Women's volleyball tripped up by  Westminster

FULTON, Mo. -- The women's volleyball team matched up with Westminster in a event noted as the SLIAC "game of the week," and the contest lived up to its billing as the teams went the distance in Westminster's 3-2 win.

Greenville held a 2-1 lead entering the fourth set, but Westminster came from behind to take the 15-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-22, 15-7 victory.

Greenville was a point away from a 22-all tie in the fourth set when a service ace started a stretch where the Blue Jays gained three of the four final points to take the momentum to the deciding set.

Anna Finch set a career-high with 19 kills in the match as she hit at a rate of .485.

Allyson Mitchell produced 16 kills but was held to a .156 hitting percentage.

Abby Freeman continued to collect service aces with four in the match.  Freeman also had a solo block and two block assists.

Finch and Brittni Bell tallied three block assists.

On the defensive side of the net, Whitney Nichols contributed 22 digs.  Mitchell and Allyson Grabowski put together 13 dig evenings.

The Panthers (7-1, 3-1 SLIAC) host Webster and Blackburn on Saturday in Greenville.
