Women's volleyball splits matches on Saturday

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday at home.  The Panthers won the opener 25-17, 25-19, 25-15 against Blackburn and fell in the afternoon match 26-24, 25-23, 25-22 to the SLIAC's first place Webster team.

Allyson Mitchell had a team-high 16 kills to pace Greenville's attack in the first match.  She added two service aces and 10 digs.

Anna Finch posted 14 kills, and Allyson Grabowski tallied 10 digs.

In the day's second match, Greenville hung with Webster in each set, but fell short.

Mitchell collected 19 kills in 52 attempts, but 10 errors pushed her hitting percentage to .173.

Mitchell defended Webster's attack with 11 digs, and Abby Freeman totaled seven kills, a service ace, a solo block, and a block assist.

The Panthers (8-2, 4-2 SLIAC) travel to Rose-Hulman for a match on Tuesday.
