Women's volleyball wins SLIAC match over Fontbonne

NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The women's volleyball gained a four-set win over Fontbonne in day two of a trip to the Louisville area after falling in three sets to Bluffton in the day's opening match.

In the first match of the day, Greenville lost 25-19, 25-23, 25-15.

Abby Freeman posted her seventh straight match with more than 12 kills to lead Greenville's attack.  Abby Quirin provided 32 set assists.

The Panthers hit best in the second set with 14 kills and five errors in 38 attempts for a hitting rate of .237.

Anna Finch added eight kills and also managed to provide two solo blocks and one block assist.

Greenville's second match of the day pitted Greenville against Fontbonne in SLIAC action.

The Panthers recorded a 20-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-11 win.

Freeman continued her offensive assault with 19 kills, four service aces, one solo block, and three block assists for 25.5 points.  Quirin posted 40 assists.

Brooklyn Pace had a memorable match with 18 digs, and Emily Stahl chipped in two solo blocks and two block assists.

The Panthers (6-5, 4-1 SLIAC) host Blackburn in H.J. Long Gymnasium on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
