Women's volleyball betters Iowa Wesleyan in four

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team received a scare, but they were able to recover and defeat Iowa Wesleyan in four sets on Wednesday.

The Panthers won the first two sets 25-14 and 25-17.  However, IWU slipped by Greenville 25-19 in the third set before the Panthers closed the match with a 25-22 win in the fourth.

The Panthers trailed 21-18 in the final set, but they rattled off seven of the last eight points for the win as Emily Stahl closed the match with a kill.

Abby Freeman had an effective night for Greenville with 25.5 points on 23 kills, one service ace, one solo block, and a block assist.

Stahl stepped up for middle Anna Finch and reached double figures with 10 kills.

Allyson Grabowski was all over the court for Greenville on defense with 27 digs, her third highest mark of the season.

The Panthers (12-8, 8-1 SLIAC) return to action at Webster on Saturday with single matches against Blackburn and MacMurray.
