Women's volleyball races past Lincoln and Rose-Hulman

DECATUR, Ill. - The women's volleyball team won a pair of matches in straight sets at the Millikin tournament on Friday. The Panthers defeated Lincoln and Rose-Hulman.

In the day's opening match against Lincoln, Greenville took a 25-18, 25-22, 25-22 win.

Abby Freeman collected a team-high 14 kills in the match and added two block assists on the way to 15 points.

Anna Finch and Jasmin Smith played a part in 11 Greenville points. Finch had eight kills, a hitting percentage of .421, one service ace, one solo block, and two block assists. Smith accrued nine kills, one solo block, and two block assists.

Chasity Hill was effective on defense with 10 digs, and Kaitlin Murray supplied 19 assists and four service aces.

In the night cap, Greenville rolled to to a 25-23, 25-16, 25-17 win.

Smith was featured and collected 13 kills, four errors, 31 attacks, and hitting rate of .290.

Jordan Lempa and Murray split the load at the setting position. Lempa totaled 17 assists, and Murray had 16.

Sacorra Patton was all over the floor on defense against RHIT, posting 16 digs.

Finch and Smith each added three block assists.

The Panthers (4-5) continue the tournament on Saturday with matches against Illinois College and Millikin.
