Women's cross country led by Kruse and Estes at SLIAC championships

LITCHFIELD, Ill. -- The women's cross country team earned the second place position on Saturday at the SLIAC championships as Lia Kruse finished as SLIAC runner up in the 6k race.

Greenville placed four runners in the top ten, finishing with 38 total points as a team.  Webster won the team championship with 31 points.

Kruse posted a time of 22:56.

Shirley Estes took sixth place with a 23:39, and Megan McKee finished ninth with a 24:00.

Brooke Goodyear crossed the line 10th with a 24:11, and Jordan File was 11th at 24:28.

After the meet, Kruse and Estes collected SLIAC first team trophies as the result of their ranking in the top seven at the race.  McKee, Goodyear, and File brought home second team honors, and Kruse was selected as Greenville's entry on the SLIAC sportsmanship team.

The Panthers will compete on Friday in the Panther Trials before returning to face outside competition at the NCAA regional championships in two weeks.
