Gianni Estrada and Cayden Sharp have been selected as the 2022-23 SLIAC Athletes of the Year. The award is presented to one male and one female athlete from conference-sponsored sports regardless of academic standing and voted on by league Sports Information Directors.
The women's cross country season concluded on Saturday at the NCAA Division III regionals where the Panthers placed 17th of 29 teams. Greenville's top runner was Olivia Mansfield who was 80th in 24:37.
Running on a pleasant end-of-October day, the Greenville University Panthers came away with the team title at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's cross country championships. Totaling 24 points, the Panthers earned their 18th title and second in the last three years.
The women's cross country team was led by a seventh place overall finish by Gretchen Carie at the Olivet Nazarene Tiger Cross Country Invitational on Friday. Greenville ended with 67 points for third place of six teams.
The women's cross country team posted a 50 point performance against Washington University on Thursday morning at a meet contested at Forest Park and dropped the event 15-50 against the host.
