SAUGET, Ill. -- The baseball team concluded NCAA tournament play with 7-1 loss against Washington-St. Louis on Friday.

Greenville starting pitcher Jonah Moore worked around first inning trouble, inducing an inning-ending double play to keep Washington off the scoreboard.

Washington pushed through to put runs on the scoreboard in the second inning with a bases loaded three-run double to take a 3-0 lead.

The Panthers got on the scoreboard in the second inning when Austin Marsh launched a solo home run over the left field fence to make the score 3-1.

Moore got through third inning trouble with a double play ground out to end the inning.

After a scoreless fourth inning, Washington tacked on another run in the fifth before head coach Lynn Carlson pulled Moore in favor of reliever Austin Rexroad who got Greenville out of the inning.

In the bottom of inning, Bryce Pearce singled and stole second but was stranded to end the inning.

Rexroad held Washington at bay in the seventh, and Klaiton Wolff came on to pitch in the eighth inning.

Wolff allowed leadoff double in the eighth that later scored, and Washington hit a two-run home run in the top of the ninth.

The Panthers concluded their season with a record of 30-17, marking the most wins in school history for the baseball program.
