Strong second half propels men's basketball

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- In the final game before Thanksgiving, the men's basketball team posted an 85 point second half en route to a 148-120 victory over Knox on Tuesday.

Riley Simmons was the leading scorer for Greenville as he dropped in 23 points over just nine minutes played.

The Panthers and Prairie Fire, who were meeting in the second year of a home-and-home series, were locked up in a two pont game at halftime.  Greenville led 63-61 at the intermission.

Greenville took control in the second half and never looked back as they outscored Knox by 26 points.

In addition to Simmons mark, both Johari Dix and Rakim Murphy reached or exceed the 20 point threshold.  Dix tallied 22 points, and Murphy recored 20 points.  Dix also added nine assists.

The Panthers (2-2) travel to Buena Vista for a game on Saturday.
