Men's basketball topped by Westminster

FULTON, Mo. -- The men's basketball team was defeated 116-110 by Westminster on Wednesday.  Johari Dix poured in a game-high 29 points in the loss.

Vari Bonney added another double-double for the Panthers with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

A group of three other Panthers surpassed the 10 point mark, led by Josias Parker with 16.  Marvin Bateman scored 13 points, and Isaih Price had 12.

Greenville's pressure struggled to force many turnovers as Westminster had just 21 in the game.  Riley Simmons picked up three steals to lead the team.

The Panthers shot just under 40 percent in the game with a mark of 36-of-91.  They were 16-of-54 from three-point territory.

Greenville trailed 61-47 at halftime and shaved a few points off the deficit before Westminster settled on a six point win.

The Panthers (11-7, 8-3 SLIAC) host Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday at 3 p.m. in SLIAC action.  The Panthers still lead the SLIAC standings by one game with seven to play.
