Men's basketball rolls to win at Principia

ELSAH, Ill. - The men's basketball team pulled their season record to .500 with a 131-99 win over Principia on Saturday afternoon. The victory was GU's fourth in five games, and they opened conference play with two wins for the first time since 2014.

The Panthers were led in scoring by five men who reached double figures, led by Eric Williams with 20 points. Marvin Bateman and Josias Parker each added 15 points. Daniel Saeli recorded 12 points, and Rakim Murphy chipped in 11 points.

Justin Cross ended one point away from a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds, and he also led Greenville with three steals.

Greenville made 49-of-100 shots in the game, including 21-of-49 buckets from three-point range. The Panthers outshot Principia by 32 attempts and forced 33 Principia turnovers.

The Panthers (4-4, 2-0 SLIAC) host Blackburn on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 3 p.m. in their final home game of the first semester.
