Men's basketball falls in overtime against Simpson

WAUKESHA, Wis. - The men's basketball team played Simpson in an overtime battle in the consolation game of the Carroll tournament, but the Panthers fell short 161-160 on Saturday afternoon.

Sontiago Grady, who was named to the all-tournament team, had a 32 point outing on 12-of-23 shooting, including a mark of 6-of-15 behind the three-point line, and 2-of-2 free throws.

Kameron Vinsel added 19 points, Quincy Pinkard had 18 points, and Henry Johnson posted 17 points.

Pinkard led GU with nine rebounds, and Grady and Rakim Murphy each had four assists.

Riley Simmons collected four of Greenville's 23 steals.

The Panthers led by as many as nine points with 4:48 remaining in the first half, and Simpson held a 15 point lead with 6:34 left in the second period before the Panthers erased the deficit.

The Panthers return to action against Westminster at home on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m.
