Men's soccer posts 6-0 shutout over Westminster

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer team dominated Westminster on Saturday in Greenville as the Panthers earned a 6-0 win in their Homecoming match.

Greenville scored early in the match and set the tone when Jared McPeek chipped a ball over Westminster's goalkeeper in the fifth minute.

Before the first half closed, Greenville had opened up a 3-0 lead with goals from Juan Jose Herranz and McPeek.

In the second half, McPeek, Edgar Bueno, and Charles Dalton added goals.

Greenville outshot the Blue Jays 23-8 in the match.  McPeek had seven shots.

Goalkeepers Nick Holland and Jesus Hernandez shared the shutout.  Holland had three saves in just over 63 minutes, and Hernandez added one save in just over 26 minutes.

Before the match, Greenville recognized its senior members of the program in their final regular season home match.

The Panthers (13-3-1, 5-1-1 SLIAC) go to Spalding for a match on Tuesday.
