Men's soccer season ends with 1-0 shutout by Spalding

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 shutout loss at Spalding on Wednesday night in the SLIAC semifinals to bring an end to their 2019 campaign.

Spalding recorded the only goal of the match in the 69th minute.

Greenville's offensive pressure resulted in a 15-10 advantage in shots over the course of the match. The Panthers placed eight shots on goal, but they were unable to beat Spalding's goalkeeper.

Luis Duran managed to produced three shots on goal to lead GU.

Goalkeeper Nick Holland faced 10 Spalding shots, and three shots were on goal. Holland collected two saves.

The Panthers ended the season with a record of 10-9 and qualified for their second straight SLIAC tournament with a fourth place record of 6-3 in SLIAC league play.
