JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer game on Tuesday evening ended in a 2-2 tie against Illinois College. Manolo Juarez and Andres Garcia gave Greenville a fighting chance with their goals.
How it Happened:
1st Half
Early in the first half, Juarez put Greenville on the board with his unassisted goal in the 11th minute.
After scoring, Greenville persisted. Julian Ramos put two shots up but neither landed. Nonetheless, the Panthers went into halftime leading 1-0.
2nd Half
IC fought back hard and tied it up in the 68th minute, but GU matched the energy and took back the lead in the 86th minute. Garcia knocked in his unassisted goal, making it 2-1.
However, Illinois College knotted it up just one minute later.
In a last-minute attempt, Garcia took a shot with five seconds on the clock but missed high, so the score sat at 2-2.
Hiram Cruz protected the net for the Panthers with two saves.
