GREENVILLE, Ill. - After a great run, the men's soccer season wrapped up after the team fell 2-1 to Spalding.
How it Happened:
The Panthers dominated possession and outshot the Golden Eagles 14-7, but ultimately lost.
In the 56th minute, Spalding took the lead after scoring on a PK. Five minutes later, the Golden Eagles doubled the lead.
Greenville mounted a late push, and in the 84th minute, Gabriel Sule converted a penalty kick to pull the Panthers within one. However, despite continued pressure in the final minutes, they could not find the equalizer.
Goalkeeper Alvaro Marchal made three saves, while both teams were handed several yellow cards throughout the match.
