Men's tennis sweeps past Illinois Wesleyan

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's tennis team started another winning streak with a 9-0 victory over Illinois Wesleyan at the Scott J. Burgess Tennis Complex on Monday.

The match, rescheduled from earlier in the season, saw Greenville win all three doubles matches and all six singles matches in the sweep.

No. 2 Zach Plocher, No. 3 Justin Tilford, and No. 4 Austin Burkhart had perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins in the match.

In addition, the No. 2 doubles duo of Justin Tilford and Jeremiah Brannon gained an 8-0 win.

 

The Panthers (14-3) continue their season as the second seed in the SLIAC tournament on Friday.  They will face Webster in St. Louis at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park in a semifinal match.  Principia is the top seeded team in the five squad event.
