Martin wins decathlon at Missouri S&T

ROLLA, Mo. - The men's track and field team sent David Martin to the Missouri S&T meet on Friday and Saturday, and Martin returned with the decathlon championship with the top marks in five of the 10 events.

Martin won the 100 meter in the competition, clocking a time of 11.24 seconds for 808 points.

Martin also recorded the top height in the high jump, clearing 5 feet-11.5 inches for 644 points.

Martin crossed the finish line first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.14 seconds for 719 points.

He also had the top time in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.61 seconds, earning 777 points.

In the discus, Martin had a throw of 121-11, winning the event and getting 607 points.

Martin completed the meet with 6308 points.

The Panthers will host the SLIAC-AMC championships on Friday and Saturday in Greenville.
