Men's track and field receives All-American performance from Jeremiah Davis

GENEVA, Ohio - The men's track and field team received a third place finish from junior Jeremiah Davis in the finals of the 200 meter dash at the NCAA Division III national track and field outdoor championships on Saturday.

Davis brought a superior effort in the finals, running a time of 21.08 seconds which was his second best lifetime mark. His personal record was a time of 21.06 seconds at the NCAA national championships on the same track in 2017.

His performance in the finals on Saturday improved his Thursday preliminary time by 34 hundredths of a second and gave him his second NCAA Division III All-American honor in the outdoor 200 meter dash.

The results in the 200 mirrored the finish of the SLIAC championships in April when Corey Carter (Principia), Jacob Ridenhour (Webster), and Davis (Greenville) placed first, second, and third.

The Panthers concluded the meet with six points, earning 42nd place in a field of 80 schools who scored at the championships. The Greenville men's track and field team has finished 42nd or better at the NCAA Division III outdoor championships each season since 2013, and GU has featured at least one Division III All-American since 2012.
