GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's volleyball team returned to the win column with a five set victory over visiting Adrian on Friday night. The Panthers won the first and third sets before taking the final and deciding set 15-12.
Greenville jumped ahead in the first set with a 25-18 set victory. The Panthers dropped the next set 25-23 before taking a two sets to one lead with a 25-21 win in the third set. Adrian pushed the match to a final set with a 25-21 win in the fourth set.
Kyle Ward posted a solid performance with 16 kills and just four errors as he hit at a rate of .444. Manuel Benitez added 12 kills.
Tanner Smith was a solid contributer with 40 assists, three kills, seven service aces, and 20 digs.
Nick Corrigan added two solo blocks, and Andrew Johnson posted 13 digs.
Greenville hit at a rate of .193 with 53 kills and 29 errors in 139 total attacks.
The Panthers (3-4, 1-3 MCVL) host Marian in a pair of matches on Saturday in Greenville.
