OLIVET, Mich. - The men's volleyball team ended their 2019 season with a 64 minute three-set sweep of Olivet. Greenville won 25-22, 25-15, 25-20 in capturing their second MCVL win of the season.
Greenville ended with a hitting line of 32 kills/13 errors/78 total attacks/.244 kill percentage and bettered Olivet who finished with a line of 32/23/94/.096.
The Panthers most efficient set was the second when they recorded a mark of 8/2/17/.353. They ended the match at 14/4/30/.333 in the third set.
Kyle Ward produced 11 kills in 22 swings to lead Greenville's offense.
The Panthers were particularly dangerous on the block, compiling a solo block from Tanner Smith and 18 block assists. Ward was the top blocker with six block assists, and Johnny Milabu followed with five block assists.
Smith set a single-season assists record as he added 30 to complete the year with 868, topping his 2017 total of 862. He finished his career with 3196 assists.
Nick Corrigan added a match-high total of 10 digs.
The Panthers concluded 2019 with an overall record of 14-15 (2-7 MCVL) in their final season as a member of the MCVL men's volleyball conference. Next season, Greenville joins the CCIW as an affiliate member in men's volleyball.
