EUREKA, Ill. - The women's basketball advanced one step closer to their fourth straight 20 win season when they took a 66-55 win at Eureka on Monday.

The Monday game marked the fourth straight week that the Panthers have played a game on a Monday due to postponements.

The Panthers silenced the home crowd early, taking a 22-4 advantage after the first quarter.  Greenville scored the first 12 points of the game.

In the second period, Eureka got closer but still trailed by 10, 31-21, at halftime.

The Panthers posted another 22 point quarter in the third as they increased their lead to 53-37, and the Red Devils outscored Greenville 18-13 in the final frame.

Emily Brandland was GU's leading scorer with 17 points, including three three-pointers.

Megan Barrett had an effective game with 12 points and seven rebounds, and Wesley Woodard added 11 points to Greenville's effort.

Overall, the Panthers outshot Eureka in every facet of the game - field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage, and free throw percentage - in their second win over the Red Devils this season.

The Panthers (19-4, 13-1 SLIAC) host Westminster on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.  At approximately 5:15 p.m., the program plans to honor their seniors in their final regular season game.  Over the last four seasons, this class of seniors accrued an overall record of 86-29.

A win against Westminster would give the Panthers a second straight SLIAC regular season championship and the top seed in the SLIAC tournament on Feb. 21 and 23.
