LINCOLN, Ill. - A 92-48 win by the women's basketball team on Tuesday night at Lincoln Christian gave the Panthers their second victory of the season and allowed Greenville head Roy Mulholland to earn his 294th career win at Greenville University. His 294th win established a new record for wins by a head women's basketball coach at Greenville, surpassing the 293 wins recorded by former head women's basketball coach Phyllis Holmes from 1967-91.

In 21 seasons as head women's basketball coach, Mulholland has accrued an overall record of 294-244 with two SLIAC regular season championships, two SLIAC tournament championships, two appearances in the NCAA Division III national tournament, five NCCAA national tournament appearances, and the 2016-17 NCCAA national championship. Over the last five seasons, the Panthers have collected a record of 90-33, setting the single-season record of 23 wins in 2016-17 and 2018-19. Holmes went 293-211 in 24 seasons at Greenville.

Before starting his position as GU head women's basketball coach in 1999, Mulholland went 231-127 over 13 seasons at Greenville High School with the girl's basketball program from 1986-99, giving him a total record of 525-371 over 34 years as a head basketball coach at the high school and college levels. Mulholland graduated from Greenville College in 1986.

Tuesday night's tilt with Lincoln Christian was never in question with the Panthers taking a 24-17 lead after the first quarter and expanding the advantage to 47-26 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Greenville outscored LCU 21-15 to hold a 68-41 lead after three periods, and they outpaced Lincoln Christian 24-7 in the final quarter.

Greenville received balanced scoring in the game with 14 points off the bench from Ashley Anderson and 13 points in a reserve role from Haven Robertson.

Starters Hannah Krukewitt, Emily Reinneck, and Madelyn Stephen all had 12 points.

Anderson fell just one rebound shy of a double-double with nine boards in the game.

Abigail Reinneck and Rachel Fettig were Greenville's top assist leaders with five in the game.

Emily Reinneck also added four steals.

Greenville protected the ball relatively well with just 12 turnovers, and the GU defense forced 36 giveaways by LCU.

The Panthers (2-3) return to action in Greenville on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 5:30 p.m. with a SLIAC game against Westminster. The evening will allow Greenville University to celebrate Coach Mulholland's milestone in a pre-game ceremony.
