Women's soccer wraps up SLIAC second place tie

CARLINVILLE, Ill. -- The women's soccer team wrapped up a highly successful regular season with a 6-0 win at Blackburn on Saturday.

Kate Arthur posted four goals to lead Greenville and move into the team lead for season points with 40.

Breanna Thomas and Arthur gave the Panthers first half goals as they took a 2-0 advantage to the intermission.

In the second half, Greenville struck with three goals from Arthur and one from Suzi Conner.

Greenville dominated the match from start to finish, recording 22 shots and 16 on goal.  Arthur had seven shots, all of which were on goal.

Goalkeeper Hope Brakenhoff collected her second shutout in three matches, and she did not have to make a save.

The Panthers (13-6, 7-2 SLIAC) will head to Fontbonne for their SLIAC semifinal on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m.  The Panthers tied Fontbonne and Westminster with identical 7-2 conference records, but Greenville received the No. 3 seed.
