Women's soccer defeats Principia 3-1

ELSAH, Ill. - The women's soccer team took a 3-1 win over Principia on Tuesday to keep pace with Webster as one of the top two teams in the conference.

Greenville fell behind 1-0 in the 21st minute of the match, but Molly McDonnell tied the score in the 29th minute.

The teams were tied 1-1 at halftime.

In the second half, Greenville received goals from Jordan Wilson and Breanna to take the victory.

Greenville ended the match with a 22-7 advantage in shots, recording 11 shots in each half.

Goalkeeper Marjory Coates was up for the challenge posed by the Principia attack as she faced three shots on goal and produced two saves.

The Panthers (6-5-2, 3-0-1 SLIAC) host Eureka on Friday night at 7 p.m. in GU's Homecoming match.
