Women's soccer scores six in second half in 7-0 rout over Eureka

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team earned a 7-0 win over Eureka on Friday behind six second half goals.

Greenville did not allow a shot by Eureka in the match and attempted 54 shots. Twenty-four shots were on goal.

Kat Stroot gave Greenville the lead with a goal in the 13th minute, but it took over 42 minutes until the Panthers would score again.

After Kate Arthur scored GU's second goal, the team rattled off five more goals in a span of 19 minutes.

The additional goal scorers for Greenville were Jade Taylor, Breanna Thomas, Sophie Laughlin, Natty Hepburn-Beaty, and Megan Taylor.

Assists were registered by Brooklyn Haro, Thomas, Arthur, Molly McDonnell, and Taylor.

Goalkeepers Marjory Coates and Reaghan Lesh received credit for the shutout despite not being tested.

GU's offensive attack was led by Jordan Wilson who had nine shots. Athena Hagerman provided seven shots, and McDonnell had six shots.

The Panthers (7-5-2, 4-0-1 SLIAC) go to Spalding for a match on Wednesday.
