Women's tennis collects SLIAC regular season title and top tournament seed

CARLINVILLE, Ill. - The women's tennis team clinched the SLIAC regular season championship and number one seed in the weekend's SLIAC tournament with a 7-2 victory over Blackburn.

Greenville swept all three doubles matches before winning four of the six singles matches.

Claudia Principal and Annie Bellinger combined to provide three of GU's wins.  They joined together for their doubles win before taking each of their singles matches.

Maddi Walsh also was a part of two wins.  Walsh teamed with Samantha Siefken for a victory in No. 3 doubles and then won at No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-2.

The Panthers (11-5) will open SLIAC tournament play on Friday against the winner of No. 4 Blackburn and No. 5 Westminster on Friday.
