Women's tennis sweeps Westminster to earn second seed in SLIAC tournament

FULTON, Mo. - The women's tennis team solidified the No. 2 seed in the SLIAC tournament with a perfect 9-0 win over Westminster on Monday afternoon.

Greenville played a short-handed Blue Jay squad and took three of the nine matches by default.

In matches that were played, Greenville rolled to wins.

The No. 1 doubles team of Mireia Birosta and Addison Brannon got the afternoon started with an 8-1 win. The No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches were awarded to GU by default.

In No. 1 singles, Birosta was a 6-3, 6-1 winner, and Brannon gained a 6-1, 6-1 win in No. 2 singles.

No. 3 Shaling Reynolds earned a 6-0, 6-1 win, and No. 4 Claudia Principal picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

The Panthers (8-3, 2-1 SLIAC) will play in the SLIAC tournament against Webster on Friday in St. Louis.
