Women's volleyball moves to 19-9 with two wins

FULTON, Mo. - The women's volleyball team took a pair of SLIAC wins at Westminster on Saturday.  The Panthers opened the day with a five-set win over Westminster before closing the day with a three-set win against Iowa Wesleyan.

In the day's first match, the Panthers won the first two sets 25-17, 25-15 as it looked like the match was on pace to finish in a similar fashion as last week's match in Greenville.  Westminster came back to take the next two sets 25-20, 25-21 and forced a fifth set tiebreaker which GU won 15-13.

Greenville was led by Abby Freeman's 26 1/2 points.  She collected 24 kills, two service aces, and one block assist.

Anna Finch reached double figures in kills with 11 and chipped in three block assists.

Allyson Grabowski added 22 digs.

Greenville rolled to a 25-15, 25-12, 25-20 win in the match against Iowa Wesleyan.

Freeman added another 15 kills, eight service aces, and a block assist for 23.5 points.

Finch was effective with 10 kills.

Grabowski and Peyton Morris held the team high with five digs.

The Panthers (19-9, 14-2 SLIAC) travel to Eureka for a match on Wednesday.
