Women's volleyball overcomes first set and defeats Webster 3-1

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The last time the women's volleyball teams from Greenville and Webster squared off the Panthers punched their ticket to their fourth consecutive NCAA national tournament as SLIAC tournament champions. As fate and the schedule makers would have it, a matchup between the schools was Greenville's first conference match of the season in 2019 and the Panthers collected a four-set win over Webster on the road.

After the first set went to Webster 25-15, Greenville ran off 25-18, 25-22, 26-24 set wins to take the match.

The Panthers' Abby Freeman gave Greenville 21 1/2 points in the match with 21 kills and one block assist while hitting at a .310 rate.

Anna Finch provided 10 kills, three solo blocks, and one block assist and produced a .450 hitting percentage.

In the back row, Sacorra Patton provided 24 digs and helped setters Kaitlin Murray and Jordan Lempa tally 28 and 23 set assists, respectively.

The Panthers (6-6, 1-0 SLIAC) travel to Eureka for a quad on Saturday against Fontbonne and Eureka.
