Women's volleyball opens home schedule with three set win

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team continued their solid start to the SLIAC season with a 3-0 victory over Blackburn in their first home match of the season. Greenville won 25-17, 25-17, 25-21.

Anna Finch posted a 12 1/2 point effort for the Panthers in the win. She had nine kills, one error, 19 attacks, a hitting percentage of .421, three service aces, and a block assist.

Abby Freeman was right behind Finch with 11 1/2 points, obtaining 11 kills and a block assist.

Maci Bonacorsi entered the match as a reserve and totaled nine kills, one error, and 15 attacks for a team-high hitting rate of .533.

Overall, the Panthers had 44 kills, 19 errors, 113 attacks, and a match hitting percentage of .221.

Kaitlin Murray and Jordan Lempa were the primary setters for GU. Murray ended with 21 set assists, and Lempa posted 14 set assists.

The Greenville defensive back row was led by Chastity Hill with 12 digs, and Emily Stahl paced Greenville at the net with one solo block and two block assists.

The Panthers (10-6, 5-0 SLIAC) travel to Westminster for a match on Saturday.
