Women's volleyball cruises in three sets over Iowa Wesleyan

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team bounced back on Friday with a three-set win over Iowa Wesleyan. The Panthers dominated the first set 25-8 and closed out the match with 25-14 and 25-16 wins in the second and third sets.

Greenville started on the right foot with eight kills and no errors in the first set. They attempted 26 swings and ended the set with a hitting percentage of .308. Greenville was helped by 10 Iowa Wesleyan attack errors.

In the second and third sets, GU had 18 and 17 kills, respectively.

Jasmin Smith led the attack for Greenville with 10 kills. It marked the first time since Sept. 14 that she posted the high kill total for GU. Smith produced 10 kills and only one error in 24 swings, accruing a hitting percentage of .375. She also added two service aces and a block assist.

Jordan Lempa managed to lead the Panthers in set assists with 19.

On the defensive side of the net, Chasity Hill recorded a team-high 17 digs, and Smith completed a double-double with 12 digs.

Anna Finch ended with two solo blocks and two block assists.

The Panthers (11-7, 6-1 SLIAC) host Principia and Westminster in a quad on Saturday with matches at 10 a.m. and Noon.
