GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's volleyball team regained first place in the SLIAC standings with a pair of wins on Saturday at H.J. Long Gymnasium. In Greenville's annual SLIAC quadrangular, the Panthers defeated Principia 25-8, 25-15, 25-9 before taking a five-set win over Westminster 21-25, 27-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-11.

It only took the Panthers 53 minutes to dispatch Principia in Saturday morning's match. Greenville hit better than .300 in all three sets, ending with 34 kills and just six errors with 84 attacks. They finished with a .333 hitting percentage.

Anna Finch provided Greenville's high kill total with nine in the match. Maci Bonacorsi and Haley Banks each added six kills.

Kaitlin Murray and Jordan Lempa directed the attack with 18 and 13 set assists, respectively.

Murray and Chasity Hill led Greenville with nine digs, and Sacorra Patton added a solo block.

In the afternoon match against Westminster, the Panthers faced a deficit after three sets, but they rallied to take the fourth and deciding fifth sets to avenge last Saturday's loss in Fulton.

Abby Freeman returned to the lineup and totaled a team-high 21 kills and nine errors in 50 swings.

Finch provided a secondary punch with 13 kills out of 29 attempts.

Lempa helped Greenville with 33 set assists.

Jasmin Smith provided 13 digs on defense.

Greenville posted an incredible effort at the net with its players combining for 23 block assists. Finch paced the squad with seven block assists, and Bonacorsi had six block assists.

The Panthers (13-7, 8-1 SLIAC) travel to MacMurray for a match on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
