Women's cross country paced by Williams

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The women's cross country team raced for the first time this season, taking third of six teams at the meet hosted by the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Finishing in Greenville's top position was sophomore Hannah Williams who clocked a time of 20:37 over the five kilometer race. Williams placed 10th overall.

Senior Kori Nesbit came in two positions later with a 12th place time of 20:43.

Sophomore Emma Leonhard and junior Tori Dyson crossed the finish line back to back positions with 22nd and 23rd place marks, respectively. Leonhard ended with a time of 22:16, and Dyson recorded a 22:25.

Freshman Leah Brown closed out Greenville's scoring spots with a 33rd place time of 23:37.

Overall, Greenville collected 85 points with an average time of 21:57.

The Panthers race in two weeks at the Midwest Intercollegiate Championships in Bourbonnais, Ill.
