Dylan Goodyear tabbed as 2022 Order of the Orange and Black recipient

GREENVILLE, Ill. - Dylan Goodyear has been announced as the newest winner of the Order of the Orange and Black award that will be presented in October.

Goodyear succeeded at the conference level and on the national stage, receiving honors from the SLIAC, NCCAA, and NCAA Division III.

Most recently, Goodyear was a qualifier for the 3000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA Division III outdoor national championships where he placed ninth, just one spot from receiving an All-American award.

He was a digital media major with marks that qualified him as a SLIAC academic all-conference award winner, NCCAA scholar athlete, and US Track and Field Coaches Association academic All-American. He enrolled in graduate courses in the spring to expend his last season of track and field eligibility.

On the cross country course, he was a two-time SLIAC champion and member of the SLIAC All-Decade team. He was also the Runner of the Year and Newcomer of the Year in the conference. His teams won four SLIAC championships, and he was a member of the all-conference team each time.

On the track, Goodyear is the school record holder in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:06 and the 3000 meter run with a mark of 8:26. He was a four-time SLIAC steeplechase champion and the NCCAA steeplechase national champion.

The Order of the Orange and Black is the honor awarded to a student-athlete representing the highest ideals of Greenville University.

It is reserved for individuals who model Christian integrity, athletic and academic excellence, and student leadership which reflect the spirit, significance, and tradition of Greenville University.

The award will be presented at the Alumni Honors Banquet on Saturday, October 15.
