Baseball falls 4-3 to St. Norbert in Friday contest

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The baseball team dropped their game against St. Norbert on Friday morning, falling by a 4-3 score.

The Panthers established a lead in the third inning after an infield hit from Drew Frey, but St. Norbert tied the game in the top of the fourth, extending their lead to 3-1 in the top of the fifth.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Panthers scored a pair of runs when Frey and Garrett Schmitz scored after the St. Norbert shortstop committed an error.

SNC recorded the winning run in the top of the seventh.

Greenville had baserunners in the final three innings but could not advance a runner past second base.

Terry Millikan received the start on the mound and pitched 4.1 innings, allowing three runs, two earned on four hits and four walks. He struck out four.

Craig Oertel got the Panthers out of a fifth inning jam when he entered with runners on base and recorded two outs including a strikeout.

Dylan Boehm pitched three innings of relief and gave up SNC's winning run.

Trent Harris also pitched a scoreless inning.

Frey and Schmitz both finished with two hits.

The Panthers (7-8) conclude their Spring Break trip with a game against Colby-Sawyer on Saturday morning.
